I just love Cheryl Allin! Thanks for tagging me and I mean that with sincerity.

Okay so here goes!

1) I married Jeff, my high school sweet heart. We have two daughters. Our oldest just graduated from high school this year and we are so proud of her. She is leaving for the Airforce this Oct. and we are excited for her. She wants to get her doctorate in medicine and we know she will do amazing things. She is excited to go, but for my own selfish reasons, I am sad at the thought of not having her at home with us anymore.

Our youngest daughter is 13 and an over achiever in everything she does. She was a competitive gymnast for most of her life and has taken top awards throughout the US. She decided to give it up this year and is now into competitive cheerleading and is looking forward to traveling with her team to try a new sport. I’ll let you know when you can catch the team on ESPN! . She has always wanted to be a Pediatrician since she was young and I am sure she will do it.

We have a dog named Lola and she is a 3lb Yorkie. She gets away with everything and really needs to go to dog training school!

2) In the 90’s I was a stay at home mom and a college student. I studied education and have a degree in arts. I love school and am always taking classes. I decided not to teach elementary because my girls were getting older and I felt like I didn’t want to be tied down to a “job”.

3) I got into real estate as an investment strategy for my family and decided to try the field. I was hired by a top team in my area as an assistant and then decided to get my license. I turned into a buyer’s agent. I loved working as a buyer’s agent, I loved meeting all the people and having all the experiences. I decided it was time to hang up the sales for a while when the market here was going down and the nights and weekends were getting old. I decided to work from home for an agent in the office. I found out about the VA world and the rest is history. I love being a Real Estate Virtual Assistant. I think real estate is in the genes! My mom works for a national builder and my Aunt sells real estate.

4) I am a Gemini and very creative. I love working with clay and doing pottery.

5) My favorite movie is- Tuesdays with Moorie-I love it and the message that it gives. My favorite TV show is The Big Idea
I love to read and I am obsessed with buying books. I don’t read fictional stories, I only like to read books I can gain information from.

6) I love research and genealogy! It is a great passion for me. I go to antique stores and find old photos with names on the back and try to find the family. I have had so many great stories from people all over the US and it is really fun. I have had great people come into my life through researching- mine and my husband’s family! I have a lot of stories and someday I would love to share them.

7) My VA business has allowed me to stay home with my family and work on amazing projects with amazing people. I am all about meeting new people and developing great relationships.
I have a hard time with people who work slow, and want top dollar for it! In this industry you have two choices- Ride in the speed boat or ride in the row boat and watch the rest pass you by!

8) How many times did I say Love in this post? (LOL) Random Fact # 8- I said it 8 times (Lol)

What Daily Tasks Come Between You and Your Best Work?

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Almost everyone has a task that they do not enjoy doing but that is a necessary part of their job. Fortunately for those who own and operate small businesses, virtual assistants are able to take some of the pressure off.

Maybe you’re not great about screening calls and knowing who to talk to; a virtual assistant can help you to prioritize calls and even to talk with some of the clients that you work with for you. Maybe you don’t know how to get a website up and running – or how to keep it up to date once it’s been started; a virtual assistant may be just what is needed to market your business on the internet.

The same is true for some accounting tasks, managing email, backing up files and more: if you find that a daily task is coming between you and your best work, it’s worth looking into hiring a virtual assistant. That way, you’ll be able to delegate those tasks that hold you back – to give them to someone who specializes in and enjoys those areas – and focus your attention on the things that you do best, the things that will grow your business.

A Virtual Assistant for a Real Estate Agent Can Make It Easy to Keep in Touch with Prospective Buyers

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

As a real estate agent, you know that following up with prospective buyers is important. But let’s be honest: when you host an open house, do you have the time to send thank you notes to everyone who stopped in – even those who didn’t seem altogether interested in the property?

It’s not always easy to find the time to follow up with everyone. Fortunately, a virtual assistant for a real estate agent can make communication easier.

When you are working with a virtual assistant for a real estate agent, you can fax over a copy of your guest log from an open house. Your VA can then send a personalized thank you note to everyone who visited and left an address – including those who came to see the property because they wanted to explore available properties.

Not everyone who attends will be interested in a property. Not everyone who attends is even ready to make the investments in a home of their own. However, by sending a personalized note, you can be sure that every attendee thinks more highly of you.

As a result, you’re likely to see increased business. Prospective buyers will call to ask about similar properties or to follow up with questions. Others will think of you when the time comes for them to invest in a home.

And the best part is this: with a virtual assistant on your side, you won’t have to take the time to write and send the notes yourself. It’s win-win!

A Virtual Assistant for Real Estate Brokers Can Help You to Know What Your Clients Want

Saturday, June 9th, 2007

As a real estate broker, you know that it’s important to know what your clients really want. A virtual assistant for real estate brokers can help you to figure it out.

For example, a virtual assistant for real estate brokers can create questionnaires for your buyers – questionnaires that are meant to get your clients thinking about what they’re looking for and that can make it easier for them to communicate with you.

Similarly, a virtual assistant for real estate brokers can help by creating tip sheets for buyers and sellers based on common questions, or can even create surveys to add to a real estate broker’s website so that you can be sure that you are providing the information that your current and prospective clients are looking for.

And, of course, once you know what your clients need from you, it’s easier to make sure they get what they want. That means that you’ll have greater client satisfaction, and that means more referrals and a business that continues to grow and to be successful.

A Real Estate Virtual Assistant Can Help You Say Thank You

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

When your real estate business becomes extremely busy, it’s hard to keep up with the little things – or at least those things that seem like little things. One of those things is saying thank you to your clients.

A real estate virtual assistant can help you to say thanks to those who have used your business to buy or sell a home.

For example, when you have a client who buys a home, you can say thank you with a simple housewarming gift – something meant to show that they meant more to you than just a commission. The same goes for sellers; no one wants to think of themselves as just money in your pocket.

A real estate virtual assistant can help you to reach out to your clients, to show them that you care. A simple thank you note, or – for buyers – a card to acknowledge the first anniversary of their home purchase can keep your name on their mind.

That way, when their friends or family members are looking for real estate services, you’ll be more likely to get the referral. Saying thank you is win-win!

Working with a Real Estate Virtual Assistant in Simple

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

There are a number of reasons why busy real estate professionals may be reluctant to work with a virtual assistant. Some think that virtual assistants don’t specialize and may not be aware that there are real estate virtual assistants – VAs who specialize in helping real estate professionals. Others think that it will be difficult to communicate with someone who isn’t working from their office, someone who isn’t right there.

However, it doesn’t have to be that way. If you’ve been thinking about working with a real estate virtual assistant, it’s important to know that there are VAs with specialized, real estate experience – those who can coordinate listing information, create seller’s tip sheets and help with home staging. It’s also important to recognize that you won’t have to share your office space because a VA doesn’t work from your office, she works from her own.

It’s a matter of finding the method of communication that works – whether by phone or by email. It’s a matter of making sure that the VA you choose has the right software and tools to help your business. And, of course, it’s a matter of finding the right real estate virtual assistant for you – someone with whom you can build a great relationship.
