Think You Couldn’t Benefit from Working with a Virtual Assistant?

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Think again!

Do you wish that you could send out mailings that were addressed by hand, but think that you just don’t have the time? Working with a virtual assistant could help to ensure that all of your mailings had a personal touch. Do you wish that your database could be better organized so that you were only sending mailings to those clients who could benefit from them? Working with a virtual assistant could lead you to an organized database.

Think about the challenges that you face:

  • Scheduling
  • Answering email
  • Updating listings
  • Updating your website
  • Creating brochures
  • Researching neighborhoods

The list of things that you do every day on the job that sometimes get set aside is always going to grow. But it doesn’t have to. By working with a virtual assistant, you could be sure that all of those tasks were taken care of for you.

Hiring a Virtual Assistant Allows You to Focus on What You Love About Your Job

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Everyone has things that they really enjoy about their jobs. For some, it’s interacting in the community. For real estate agents, it’s showing homes or matching the right buyer with the right location and putting the buyer in the home of his or her dreams.

But what about all that stuff you don’t want to do? Hiring a virtual assistant allows you to focus on what you love about your job.

A virtual assistant can take care of your paper and electronic mailings. A virtual assistant can take care of designing brochures and flyers. A virtual assistant can answer your phones or update your website.

In short, a virtual assistant can be hired to do any of those tasks that bog you down and hold you back from focusing on what you love.

Hiring a Virtual Assistant Does Not Mean Making a Long Term Commitment

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Maybe you are new to the idea of using a virtual assistant. Maybe the idea of having someone who you do not see on a daily basis take charge of a project makes you nervous. Or maybe you only have one project that you need help with, and want to hire someone for just one project.

That’s the great thing about hiring a virtual assistant. No matter what your needs are, a virtual assistant can help you to reach them.

Whether you have only one project that needs a virtual assistant – a one time update of your website, someone to design your business card or a brochure – or you want to try using a virtual assistant for one project to help get you over the concerns you have, you can feel confident hiring a virtual assistant for just one project.

Virtual Assistants: How Small Businesses Can Help One Another

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

When you have a small business, there’s going to be a time when you need help. One way of getting that help is to work with someone else with a small business.

This will benefit you in a number of ways, but in particular it will benefit you because:

  • When you work with someone else who is running a small business – such as a virtual assistant – you will be able to have a sense of shared goals: both of you are working hard to make it on your own.
  • You will be able to be sure that you are both committed to success: when you work with a virtual assistant, his or her success is directly related to yours. In other words, you and your virtual assistant will both be working towards the same goal.

When your business is growing, you will find that there are things that you need help with – why not start by adding a virtual assistant?

You will be able to interview different people to find someone who you know will be as committed to growing your business as you are. You will be able to find someone who specializes in the areas where you need assistance.

And, to help you to hire a virtual assistant, here are some suggestions:

  • Do your research to make sure you’re looking at the right virtual assistant for the job;
  • Ask for samples of their work and for references from past clients so that you’ll know what you are getting;
  • Carry on a conversation with the virtual assistant you might hire to make sure that you communicate well;
  • Start with one project rather than making a long term commitment;
  • Be clear about your expectations;
  • Take the time to get clarity before the project gets underway: know who will be paying for what, what the timeline is and any other information that you need

By getting off on the right foot with a new business relationship, you set the stage for a long lasting, solid business relationship in which both businesses benefit.

When Is the Right Time to Hire a Virtual Assistant?

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Sometimes it is easy to know that the time has come to hire a virtual assistant. You know that you are overwhelmed. You know that you don’t have the space in your office for another person. You know that you aren’t finishing all of the tasks that are on your to do list. In other words, you know that it’s time to hire a virtual assistant because you know that you need help.

Sometimes, though, people are reluctant to admit that they need a helping hand. Sometimes people get so overwhelmed that they don’t recognize that they are overwhelmed anymore. If that describes you, ask yourself:

  • What big projects are on my desk and what small details need to be worked out? If writing the list is taking more time than you anticipated and every time you try to move on o the next item you think of five more things to list, it just might be the right time to hire a virtual assistant.
  • If you have team members on your staff, are they too busy to take on more work? If so, it might be time to hire a virtual assistant so that your staff doesn’t start feeling overwhelmed or worse, suffering from burnout.
  • What tasks do I/we struggle with? If there are marketing tasks or billing tasks or any other projects that consistently are overlooked, it may be time to hire a virtual assistant, someone who specializes in those areas and can be sure to get the job done.

There are plenty of other indicators that show the time is right to hire a virtual assistant. Overall, you know your business best and, when the time is right you will know it.

Running a Small Real Estate Business?

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

If you are running a small real estate business, you might find yourself in a situation similar to the one many small business owners have: not enough space.

When you look around your office, what do you see? Is the light flashing to indicate that you have voice mail? Do you have so many email messages that you don’t know which need to be read and which have already been answered?

Whether you feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done or you just don’t think there’s room in your office for one more person, it may be time to look into a virtual assistant.

You can route your phone calls to a virtual assistant and she can prioritize call-backs for you. You can have your virtual assistant sort through your emails and let you know which need to be answered quickly – in fact, your virtual assistant might even be able to reply to those emails for you, depending upon what your agreement is.

If you are running a small real estate business – indeed, if you are running any small business – and you need some help, a virtual assistant might be just what you need to take your business to the next level.

People Think About Themselves

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Money TIpHere’s a tip for Real Estate Agents and others.

I see a lot of websites that talk about the agent- I do this, I hold these designations, I am this. People don’t care!!! They want to know what is in it for them. When writing webcopy it is important to include – “What’s in it for me?” If you gear your website writing towards the customer you will see better results. Hit the hot buttons! Maybe they are a FSBO searching for an agent. They are sick of trying to sell their home on their own. Talk about how daunting it can be and what you can do to “save the day”

If you think you have great copy content or if you think you might need a re-write, post a comment and we will be happy to take a look at it.
